About Omri Avidar
I was born into a deep-rooted Israeli family who provided me love and familiarity with the country. My grandparents immigrated to Israel in the 1920's and were among the pioneers of the 3rd Aliya. My grandmother was a daughter of the founders of Petah Tikva the first Jewish modern settlement. Both my parents were Palmach fighters and founders of the kibbutz, and my brother was killed in Sinai in the Yom Kippur war. These are just a few examples of people that I was honored to know personally and who have provided me with knowledge about my country and its history.
I was born in Ashkelon in southern Israel in 1964. I grew up on a Moshav near Jerusalem, and since 2002 I have lived in Kfar Vradim in the heart of the Galilee. I am happily married to Ruth and a proud father of four grownup children.
Ever since I can remember I love to travel and have travelled the country hundreds of times in every possible mode of transportation; on foot, bike or jeep. I have met many unique Israelis and have seen numerous fabulous places across this country.
After 15 years of working in the hi-tech industry I decided to turn my hobby/obsession into my profession and completed my professional training courses in theoretical and practical studies:
- Tour guide course, certified as part of the Ministry of Tourism at the University of Haifa (License # 12838)
- Wilderness Adventure Instructor course
- Training in rappelling and rock climbing
- Off-road driver training
- Overseas group escort course (completed in 1991)
My hobbies include long-distance running, diving, sailing and photography. I love meeting new people and I'm happy to show and introduce them to the country I know so well. Creating unforgettable experiences is my passion.

About Dana Kapustin
Hi! I was born on Long Island and grew up in Texas. After living in Boston and Philadelphia, my husband and I moved to Charlotte NC, where we’ve lived for 20 years and raised our 3 (now grown) children.
After completing my BS in Communication at University of Texas and M.Ed.at Lesley University, I’ve served in many roles, all related to education and Judaism. In Charlotte these have included teaching Holocaust education to (mostly non-Jewish) students and educators, working with Jewish Family Services to help Holocaust survivors in our community, and serving as president of our local chapter of Hadassah. I also spent years teaching educational workshops for teachers around the country for the Anti Defamation League and working for Young Judaea Global in various roles.
My passion is Israel! After experiencing October 7, 2023 on a moshav a dozen miles from the Gaza border and after leading 2 solidarity missions back to Israel over the subsequent few months, I’ve decided that the best way to focus my energy is to continue sharing Israel with others. (And if you know me, you know I have LOTS of ENERGY!)
My first experience in Israel was on Young Judaea’s gap year program in 1990-1991. Since then, I have taken over 30 trips to Israel—with a variety of guides, itineraries, family members, and friends. Those trips led me to the best guide in Israel, my colleague Omri Avidar!
When I’m not in Israel, you’ll find me working in the Jewish community, listening to Israeli music and watching Israeli news and TV shows. My other favorite hobbies include running, biking, cooking, knitting and traveling. I’m fluent in Hebrew and Spanish. It would be my pleasure to share my love for Israel with you!
We are geared up and enthusiastic about helping you create a trip of a lifetime.
